This unique flag features 13 blue eight-pointed stars within an expanded white canton and alternating red and blue stripes. It was a flag used during the Battle of Guilford Courthouse in North Carolina in 1781, one of the most significant battles of the American Revolution. This flag was later featured in John Trumbull’s 1828 painting, Surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown.

Do canvas pictures look cheap?

A stretched canvas will look better than a rolled or unstretched print, as the image is not visible from the side (unstretched prints have staples around all edges). Also, a stretched canvas is ready to hang straight out of the box with no additional framing or finishing required.

You can add a gallery wrap to your stretched canvas print, which consists of an extra printed area around the sides that can be either left white, coloured or even mirrored. This will give the impression of your photo or painting continuing on the sides, which can really enhance the look of the art piece.

You can buy a pre-assembled wooden stretcher frame to make your own stretched canvas, or you can purchase separate, raw and gessoed canvas, stretching pliers and a staple gun. We recommend laying down plastic drop cloths or tarps where you are going to be stapling and gessoing, as it can be quite messy. We also recommend watching some videos on YouTube on how to properly prepare a bare canvas for stretching.
